Our calculator uses the exact slab-wise telescopic method published by each State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC). Estimates are typically within 1–3% of your actual bill. Small differences can occur because of FAC (Fuel Adjustment Charge), which varies monthly, and local surcharges that vary by consumer category.

We do not display or process actual bills anywhere on this site. No. This site never asks for any consumer number, account ID, BP number, OTP or login credentials. The independent calculator only takes the units consumed (or meter readings). To view your actual issued bill you must go to your DISCOM's official portal — only DISCOM portals can show real bills, and they need your consumer number on their own site.

Telescopic billing means only the units falling within each slab are billed at that slab rate. For example, at 350 units, the first 100 are charged at the first slab rate, the next 200 at the second slab rate, and the last 50 at the third. Most states use this method. A few (e.g. Kerala domestic slabs) use non-telescopic billing where all units are charged at the rate of the slab you crossed into.

Fuel & Power Purchase Cost Adjustment (also called FAC or FPPCA) is a pass-through charge that compensates DISCOMs for fuel cost fluctuations. It is levied per unit and varies monthly. We use the latest published FAC for each DISCOM — your current-month FAC may differ slightly.

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Your units, readings, and saved history are stored only in your browser's localStorage on your device. We do not send your consumption data to any server.
