Headquartered at Bengaluru, Karnataka electricity tariffs are set by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission through annual tariff orders that specify slab rates, fixed charges, and cost-pass-through mechanisms. Domestic consumers are generally billed on a telescopic basis: only the units within each slab are charged at that slab's rate, so climbing a slab doesn't push your cheaper units to a higher rate.
